1. Who we are
MorCal is a mortgage-planning web application created by Key Bases LLC, a business based in New Jersey. In this policy, “MorCal,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Key Bases LLC and the MorCal service.
2. Information MorCal handles
You can use the calculator without creating an account. Calculator entries may include a home price, down payment, state, interest rate, term, taxes, insurance, HOA dues, and optional extra-payment choices. The calculations themselves are performed in your browser.
If you save as a guest, the scenario is stored in your browser’s local storage on that device. If you choose to sign in with ChatGPT, OpenAI provides MorCal with a stable account identifier, your email address, and, when available, your display name. MorCal does not receive your ChatGPT password. Signed-in saved scenarios are stored in MorCal’s hosted database and associated with that account identifier.
Our hosting and sign-in providers may process ordinary technical information needed to deliver and protect the service, such as IP address, browser or device details, request timing, and security logs. MorCal does not currently use advertising trackers or sell personal information.
3. How information is used
We use information only as reasonably needed to:
- calculate and display mortgage-planning estimates;
- save, restore, and delete scenarios at your request;
- show signed-in account information and separate one user’s records from another’s;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve MorCal; and
- comply with law or protect the rights and safety of MorCal, its users, and others.
4. Saving choices and retention
Guest saves remain only in the browser that created them. They may be lost if you clear site data, use a private-browsing session, change browsers, or change devices. Signing in later does not automatically transfer guest saves into your signed-in account.
Signed-in saves are retained so you can retrieve them when you return with the same ChatGPT account. You can delete individual scenarios from the Saved Calculations panel. Guest records can also be removed there or by clearing MorCal’s browser storage. We may retain limited records when reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or backup integrity.
5. When information may be shared
We may use service providers that host, secure, or support MorCal. They may process information only as needed to provide those services or as permitted by their own terms and privacy policies. We may also disclose information when required by law, to investigate misuse or security issues, or as part of a merger, financing, sale, or transfer of the business, subject to applicable law.
MorCal includes a link to Buy Me a Coffee. If you follow it, you leave MorCal and interact directly with that service. Buy Me a Coffee and its payment providers handle the information you submit there; MorCal does not receive or store your payment-card details.
6. Your choices and privacy requests
You may use MorCal without signing in, delete saved scenarios, and choose not to follow external links. Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may also have rights concerning access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information. To make a privacy request, email morcal100@gmail.com. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
7. Security
We use reasonable measures intended to protect information, but no website, network, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Do not enter Social Security numbers, bank credentials, payment-card details, or other highly sensitive information into MorCal’s calculator or scenario names.
8. Children’s privacy
MorCal is intended for general adult mortgage planning and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and address the situation.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as MorCal’s features, providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date above will show when the current version took effect. Material changes may also be highlighted within the service when appropriate.
